Robin Chevalier our Deputy Course Leader of the Graphic Design course was commissioned to provide an illustration for the "work" section of the Guardian published on Saturday 20th October.
This is a blog run by the teaching staff and students of the BA(Hons) course in Graphic Design: Visual Communications at the University for the Creative Arts at Maidstone, Kent , United Kingdom.
The graphic design course at Maidstone College has a recognised history of achievement employing lecturers with international profiles and graduates who have reputations as professional designers. It is one of the most recognised and established courses in the UK, and with London only 50 minutes travel away by train is in effect very close to the heart of the communications and creative industries.

I've had few work placements for the last few months. ( Design agents and newspaper agents).I'm planning to go back to China for some working experience and learning for half year, then I will come back to UK next July or August for proper job hunting!

Hi ! Just to let you know I am the new Apple Student Rep for the University College for the Creative Arts, you may have seen me doing a table top demo and help bar over the last couple of days at Maidstone College as I have been touring the campuses.
Essentially my job is to help students with anything Apple based. It is my job to let students know about the best deals available to them as well as help them choose the best Mac specifically for them on there course. As well as providing any technical help or advice.
If a student has any questions then please direct them to me using my contact addresses bellow (I will be getting business cards very soon which I will be happy for people to take to issue to student with any queries.
If any lecturers would like me to come into classes and give a presentation on the use of Mac’s in the industry, the best deals available to students and the best Mac’s for specific degrees and creative jobs, or anything else they may think is helpful to students then I will be happy to do so.
You may also be interested to know that all student discounts apply to staff also, as long as you buy online at … via a campus computer then you are entitled to between 12%-15% of all Macs, as well as the back to schools offer of a free i-pod nano if you are going to buy a Mac before October 31st.

New Upgrades for Digital Media Studios at Maidstone College
Maidstone College continues to be one of the best equipped colleges for digital media. During the summer period upgrades were made to the following areas.
Digital Media 1. (North Block) 25 new Intel iMacs. Digital Media 2. (North Block) 13 new Intel iMacs. Digital Media 5. (East Block) 22 G4 Workstations replaced by Intel iMacs.
Photography resource area. (East Block) 6 New Intel iMacs. All digital rooms have had upgrades on software including Final Cut Studio Pro 2. Time Based Media has 3 High definition Mac based workstations running FCS Pro 2.
Time Based Media has 3 new Intel iMacs. Photography resource area has had new Digital cameras.
Photomedia (Foundation) has new digital cameras. Animation (West Block) 5 New Intel iMacs and upgraded software.
West Block has had Fire safety upgrades to all rooms and a disabled toilet facility installed.
