Critique Day at Maidstone

First Year students receive their first critique for the unit "Typography Letterform - A Sense of Place". Students were asked to visually research a square mile of London and then create a typographic solution that successfully identified that place. Students used a variety of media and processes to complete their projects. The unit asks students to investigate visual identity concentrating on how typography and letterform contribute to the construction of graphic language and a sense of place. A study trip during induction week enabled them to collect visual data and explore research methadologies.
